SHARING BOND. Scouters make themselves part of the activity in order to contribute to the betterment and in keeping the city clean and green.
The Boy Scouts of the Philippines, Zamboanga City Council in coordination with the Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources held a Mangrove Tree Growing and Clean-Up Drive Activity on January 24 at Masepla Mangrove Area, Barangay Mampang, Zamboanga City.
This is one of the scheduled activities in celebration of the 62nd Charter Anniversary of BSP Zamboanga City Council. The undertaking dubbed as “Mi Ciudad Cuida: A Scout Initiative and Advocacy was enjoined mostly by active teacher-adult leaders and scouts together with other volunteers coming from both the public and private sectors.
The participants planted mangrove trees which served as the first line of defense for communities in coastal areas. These served as natural barriers that protect them from storm surges and floods. A clean-up drive followed thereafter.
